Arnold Schwarzenegger says friend Bruce Willis will be remembered as a ‘great star’ and a ‘kind man’

Arnold Schwarzenegger has a deep admiration for Bruce Willis.

In a recent conversation with CinemaBlend, the former California governor discussed his friendship with the legendary action star.

When asked about Willis’s retirement due to health issues, Schwarzenegger expressed his esteem for his fellow actor. “He’s fantastic,” he said. “For many years, he has been a massive star, and he will always be remembered as a remarkable figure and a genuinely kind person.”

Last year, the Willis family announced that the actor was stepping away from his career following a diagnosis of aphasia, a condition that affects communication abilities, as noted by the Mayo Clinic. They later revealed that Willis is living with frontotemporal dementia (FTD), which encompasses a range of brain disorders primarily affecting the frontal and temporal lobes.

Schwarzenegger acknowledged the necessity of Willis’s retirement due to his health, stating, “I understand under his circumstances that he had to step back.”

He added, “But in general, we never really retire. For action heroes, it’s more like we reload.”

Willis celebrated his 68th birthday in March.
